Let yourself be transported into the wonderful world of illustrator Redmer Hoekstra. For Heinen Delfts Blauw, this humorous and philosophical artist created a collection of Delft Blue wall plates, including this one featuring a beaver and a group of celebrating penguins. You'll instantly recognize the wall plates by their dreamy illustrations. A bold collection of surreal animals marching, swimming, or rolling their way into the world of Heinen Delfts Blauw. The beaver slowly makes its way along, while the penguins celebrate on its back. Diving, gliding, and even chilling in a warm cup of Delft Blue coffee. Oh yes, and don't forget the outstretched beaks of the ducks, serving as diving boards. This is all perfectly normal in Redmer Hoekstra's world. Or perhaps you see a completely different story in this setting. The beaver's physical discomfort is a recurring theme in Redmer's work; it's a source of his humor. For Redmer, the biggest challenge was merging his whimsical world with the world of Heinen Delft Blue. “I used Delft Blue products from the Heinen collection as a starting point for my illustrations and built my world around them. Strange shapes like the tulip vase and beautiful patterns in Delft Blue inspired me. I wanted each illustration to be different, yet all the characters on the panels inhabit the same world. This way, they can shine on their own but also fit together perfectly.” Choose a wall panel to draw attention to your wall, or combine the entire collection for a wall full of humor, where you'll discover new, fun details every time you look at it.
